SharePoint Safety and Compliance Management System for Construction Operations

Project Date:

Summary:

A SharePoint safety management system was developed for Doughty Group to centralise compliance, incident reporting, and operational workflows across multiple construction projects.

Challenge:

Doughty Group needed a more structured way to manage safety, compliance, and operational processes across multiple construction projects.

Incident reporting, contractor onboarding, and compliance tracking were handled across disconnected systems, creating inefficiencies and increasing risk. At the same time, the system needed to be usable for both site staff and administrators working in fast-paced environments.

Balancing compliance requirements with practical usability became the key challenge.

Solution:

A centralised SharePoint safety and compliance management system was developed to unify operational workflows and compliance processes.

The platform consolidated incident and injury reporting, compliance records, and expense workflows into a single environment. This ensured that safety-related data could be captured, tracked, and managed consistently across all projects.

DocKeeper and XRM tools were integrated to streamline contractor onboarding, aligning access, documentation, and safety requirements within a structured process.

The system was co-designed with internal teams to reflect real-world site operations, ensuring that workflows were practical and easy to adopt.

The system aligned with structured SharePoint governance and compliance services to ensure safety data, permissions, and workflows remained controlled and scalable.

The SharePoint safety management system unified incident reporting, compliance tracking, and contractor onboarding into a single operational platform.

Impact/Results:

Safety and compliance processes became more structured and easier to manage.

Administrative friction was reduced as workflows became centralised and standardised. Project teams gained better visibility into safety data and operational activities, improving oversight and decision-making.

The platform provided a reliable operational backbone, supporting both compliance requirements and day-to-day project execution.

Key takeaway:

Systems designed for compliance must also reflect how teams actually work on-site. Without usability, even the most structured system will fail to deliver value.
